Fruity Yoghurt Crunch

Sometimes some of the easiest and simplest recipes are the nicest! This is good if you need something quick to whip up before work or school for a breakfast!

This is so simple to make with virtually no prep time needed. Just throw everything in the bowl and eat it! When you’re constantly on the go, it can be difficult to find time to meal prep for breakfast. You could put this together the night before and keep it in the fridge, or make it in the morning. For days when I either don’t have the time, or just simply can’t be bothered to cook a fancy breakfast, this is one of my tasty ‘go to’s’.

Yoghurt with fruit and cheerios

You can find the glass I used for this breakfast here. I love using these for dinner parties too!

Muller Yoghurts

In this recipe, and for most breakfast ideas I have, I use Muller yoghurts which is great because they come in such a wide variety of flavours. From mango and passion fruit (for a more summery feel) to toffee (for those with a sweeter tooth. I personally normally use orange with dark chocolate sprinkles because I really am a chocoholic at heart. It’s currently my favourite Muller yoghurt flavour!

Most of the Mullerlight yoghurts are only low calorie each which means that not only is this a quick breakfast, but it allows you to save calories for meals or snacks later in the day.

The Crunch

I added Cheerios to my breakfast because I liked the extra crunch texture that they brought to the dish. I chose the honey ones as my eternal sweet tooth was crying out for the added sweet flavour!

Other Delicious Breakfasts:

Topping

As you can see, I added blueberries and strawberries to my yoghurt for extra speed. I mainly chose these because I enjoy them. The strawberry actually came from the strawberry plant in my neighbour’s garden and the blueberries looked good when I was in the supermarket. Of course in the winter months, it can be more difficult to get hold of high quality blueberries. Fruit can be easily substituted for other speed fruits that are in season or suit the flavour of the yoghurt you picked.

In the winter, why not add some segments of oranges or tangerines. While researching for this recipe, I was fascinated to find that oranges are often cheapest in the winter months. This is because they tend to be harvested just before it gets too cold. Even though they are grown in warmer climates than here in the UK, they are very sensitive to freezing so must be harvested before that happens.

In the spring, rhubarb is great for extra speed. However, if like me, you are not a fan of rhubarb, mangos and pineapples are perfect for giving that tropical flavour.

Summer Fruits

In the summer, there is an abundance of berries, which are great for packing out a meal. If, like me, you love berries, why not grow some in your garden and save some money? This is one of the fantastic things about living in the UK and I am lucky enough to have a kind neighbour who keeps me well stocked!

At the end of summer, passion fruit is harvested. You can use it as an autumnal addition to your fruity yoghurt crunch.

Whatever fruit you add, I am sure you will really enjoy the simplicity of the preparation for such a delicious breakfast.
